Privacy Policy

Short version: StockPulse is a personal research tool. We do not collect personal information, do not require account registration, and do not sell or share any data with third parties. All preferences (watchlist, portfolio) are stored locally in your browser.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

StockPulse does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information to use the platform. No personal data is collected during normal platform use.

Usage Data (Anonymous)

Our servers may log standard HTTP request information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited for operational and security monitoring purposes. This data is not linked to any individual user and is not used for advertising or tracking.

2. Local Storage (Browser)

Several features of StockPulse store data directly in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers unless explicitly described.

stockpulse_token

Anonymous user token (UUID) used to associate your watchlist with server-side storage. Contains no personal information.

stockpulse_portfolio

Your portfolio holdings (symbol, name, qty, avg price). Stored only in your browser. We cannot see or access this data.

3. Watchlist Data

Your watchlist symbols are stored server-side, associated with your anonymous user token (a randomly generated UUID stored in your browser). This token contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you. If you clear your browser's localStorage, your token is regenerated and any server-side watchlist data becomes inaccessible (effectively orphaned).

We do not log which symbols specific users are watching for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

4. Cookies

StockPulse does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. The platform may use essential session cookies required for normal functionality of the web application. No cookies are used to track you across websites.

5. Third-Party Services

StockPulse integrates with the following third-party services to provide platform functionality. Your interactions with these services are governed by their respective privacy policies:

Broker APIs (Upstox)When using Algo Trading features, your broker credentials are handled by the Upstox API. We do not store your broker login credentials.

News SourcesNews articles shown on the platform are fetched from public news sources. Clicking external links takes you to third-party websites with their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days for operational and security purposes, after which they are deleted. Watchlist data (anonymous token + symbols) is retained until you remove items from your watchlist. We do not retain any personal data.

7. Data Security

StockPulse is served over HTTPS to protect data in transit. Server-side data is stored in an SQLite database with restricted file permissions. We follow reasonable security practices, but no system is completely secure. Given that no personal data is collected, the risk to individual users from a security incident is minimal.

8. Children's Privacy

StockPulse is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. Financial instruments discussed on this platform may only be legally traded by adults. By using this platform, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
